Cape Coast Winery Ride with STANDARD Bike (16 km, 6 wineries)
- Duration: 6 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Ahuriri, Napier
A very scenic cycle featuring some of the regions favourite wineries, our most popular tour!
NOTE: this product is the STANDARD pushbike option - if you require an EBIKE please select the Cape Coast Winery Ride EBIKE option.
You can have both in your order, just select one and complete the booking form then find 'keep shopping' button and select the next option and complete the form.
Meet us at our shop in Ahuriri, Napier or we can pick you you from your accommodation. We will then transfer you to the start of your adventure at the Black Barn winery. Te Mata Estate is very close by so you can start your wine tasting early! Take a detour to Craggy Range along a new bike path - approx 4km there and back. You will then enjoy a 16km cycle on the limestone cycle trail following the Tuki Tuki River, to the coastal communities of Haumoana and Te Awanga. Stop at Askerne along the way - a friendly, family winery which offers the best value wine tasting and gourmet picnics! The views are stunning as you cycle the raised stop-bank trail and look out over orchards, vineyards and farmlands.
Reaching the coast you’ll be ready to taste some more fine wine at Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate and Te Awanga Estate. If lunch is on your ‘wish-list’ we highly recommend booking in advance (SATURDAY and Public Holidays BOOKINGS are ESSENTIAL - you won't get lunch otherwise). If you are a big group then we recommend booking wine tastings as well (see winery links below).
LUNCH: we recommend Clearview Estate (Mediterranean style food with table service - bookings essential), Te Awanga (who offer the best pizzas in Hawke’s Bay - you can sit outside on their green lawn so numbers aren't so limited but if you are a big group, definitely book and pre-order your pizzas/platters) or head to Hygge Cafe in Clifton - amazing array of food and a grea spot to have lunch.
Allow 6hrs for this tour. At the end of the day you will be collected and transferred back to Ahuriri or your accommodation if required.
