We can help you get on your bike and visit some unforgettable places in Hawke’s Bay with a self-guided cycle tour. You set the dates that suit and know that your accommodation, ride maps/routes, van shuttles and bike support are all taken care of. We are your local specialists in “no stress” multiday cycle tours on the Hawke’s Bay Trails. You will see awesome scenery, visit top wineries, and ride the best of the HBTrails.

We make it really easy to get what you want from your cycle tour, flexibility is key. For example, you can choose the distance you ride each day – from 35km-65km each day. If you want an e-bike to ride, no worries this is included! We also have 2 different levels of great accommodation to choose from, making your tour the price-point you want.

DAY BY DAY BRIEF:

Ride 1: Ahuriri Estuary Ride

Start your Hawke’s Baycation adventure with a 40 – 65km cycle along flat, scenic trails around the Ahuriri Estuary, via Bayview visiting Crab Farm, Church Road and Mission Estate wineries. Book your lunch at Church Road or Mission Estate and eat in style.

FEAST MODE 40km: Enjoy a cruisey return to Ahuriri via the direct loop estuary trails, or

BEAST MODE 65km: Cycle the extra route up the river trails to Puketapu to visit the iconic pub and return to Ahuriri via the Tutaekuri River trails to Marine Parade and north to the port. 

Ride 2: Cape Kidnappers & Havelock North Ride

After a relaxed breakfast in Ahuriri, get started on a 35-60km cycle to Havelock North. 

You have two options today:

FEAST MODE 45km: Ride the coast and explore the best of award-winning wineries, including the Te Awanga treats – Elephant Hill, Clearview before heading to Havelock North along a quick 13km ride down the Tukituki River trails to Askerne, Te Mata and Black Barn. All have amazing cellardoors and leisurely lunch options. Shuttle back to Napier.

BEAST MODE 60km: Starting from our base in Ahuriri Napier, follow the coast down to Clive where you will turn inland up the Ngaruroro Trails to Bridge Pa. Then its onwards through Hastings City to end at Havelock North village.

Ride 3: Tuki Tuki Loop Ride

Begin your day with a shuttle to Clifton to start the 35 – 60km back-road cycle around the stunning Tuki Tuki Loop.

FEAST MODE 35km: From Clifton head to the Tukituki River trails and up the roads along this picturesque valley to Red Bridge with views from the hills. Stop for a scone and a coffee before heading to the Award-winning MUST STOP winery Craggy Range. Enjoy incredible ambience then after one last hill you can stop at Havelock North Black Barn for a cold Blanc to Blanc and relax before meeting our shuttle return to Ahuriri.

BEAST MODE 65km: Do the above but don’t stop at Black Barn – keep pedalling and return up the river trails to the coast and ultimately back to Ahuriri Napier. You are a beast – hills and distance!
