Want no stress cycling with the best lunch stops? Most of our trips have an easy daily cycling distance of around 30-40 km, along flat, easy-riding trails and quiet country roads (which can be extended or shortened to suit you).  We provide detailed trail maps showing the location of all the best places to stop enroute. 

Price includes 4 days of riding tour routes, e-bike hire, shuttle transfers, bike theft insurance and upgrade package, airport pick ups.

DAY BY DAY BRIEF:

Day 1 - 26-42km: Meet us at our shop in Ahuriri, Napier 9am (depending on your travel arrangements). Sit down with the Takaro crew and talk about your 4 days riding. When ready, grab your map and head out on the first trail to Bayview and on to Puketapu for day ones cycling adventure. You will cycle the coastal trails to Bayview, inland lagoon farm trails to Taradale (visit Church Road and Mission Estate wineries) and then connect with the Ahuriri Estuary water trails to get back to our base in Ahuriri. 

Day 2 - 35-50km: Starting in the Art Deco glamour of Napier City ride along the stunning coastline of Marine Parade to the mouths of the regions three rivers the scene is ever-changing. You will cycle past Askerne, Black Barn, Te Mata Estate (stop for wine tasting) and the iconic Arataki Honey (NZ’s biggest manuka honey producer). Finish today by heading to one of the many renowned restaurants in Havelock North for a tasty dinner.

Day 3 - 45km:  An awesome backroad experience with incredible views and even better wineries. Cycle from Havelock North to Cape Kidnappers past three of the best wineries – Craggy Range, Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate riding the Tukituki Loop. Keep riding after a long lunch at a winery of your choice and head back to your Havelock North accommodation from anywhere along the trail today.

Day 4 - 35km:  Start the day with a quick tour through the city of Hastings before enjoying a pleasant amble through flat farmland to the world acclaimed Ngatarawa Gimblett Gravels appellation. There’s much to enjoy as you spend some time visiting the cellar doors of some of the regions finest wineries including Sileni Estates, Oak Estate, Trinity Hill and Villa Maria.  We can pick you up and transfer you to your Napier accommodation where the trail comes to Pakowhai Park 2pm.
